Design
From initial ideas pre-artwork scamps were thought about
and produced on paper. |
The more feasible ideas were then designed into formal
concepts using a PC computer and presented to the directors
as images via email. |
There were then concept changes requested by the directors
and then after various changes a written or signed final
approval from them. |
The timescale of the total project was reviewed and
various parts of the project were planned to meet critical
path timescales. |
Artwork
A digital stock photography search was undertaken. |
High resolution image scanning took place with some
image manipulation in Photoshop. |
Production and tracing of some of the artwork in Freehand
and Illustrator and at times some further stylising in
Photoshop. |
The elements were then laid out in Photoshop and prepared
in CMYK ready for print as artwork, plus the special shiner
plate. |
In this case a flat nets was produced using Freehand
or Illustrator and fold allowances specified for the printer
as a guide. |
Print and Finishing
The artwork was sent to the printer. A matchprint or
cromalin colour proof , taken from the printers films,
or wetproof, taken from the printers plates was sent back
for final checking |
Any major amendments were made in the artwork and re-sent
to the printer, though minor amendments were generally
made by the printer |
The print stock was finally confirmed, and the project
was printed, folded and finished by RP Print in Bishops
Stortford. |
The finished job was sent out to me to pass on for distribution. |
