Holidaylets.net brochure and postcards

To promote the holidaylets.net website printed material was required for the Kensington Olympia Viva la France exhibition. A brochure was produced for holiday home owners and postcards for handouts and mailers.

  Design

Once the project was confirmed and brought on board, there was initially a brainstorming session – gaining ideas.
From these ideas initial pre-mac scamps thought about and produced on paper.
The more feasible ideas were then designed into formal concepts using a PC computer and presented to the customer on presentation board.
The timescale of the total project was reviewed and various parts of the project were planned to meet critical path timescales.

Artwork

The gaining of imagery from the website and digital stock photography.
The elements were then laid out in Photoshop on the PC and prepared in CMYK ready for print as artwork.
A‘flat net’ was produced using Photoshop and fold allowances specified for the printer as a guide.
The artwork in this case was 'imposed' ready for the printer to go straight to film and plate.

Print and Finishing

The artwork was sent to Cranfield University Press. An indigo colour proof was sent back for final checking.
Any major amendments were made in the artwork and re-sent to the printer, though minor amendments were generally made by the printer.
The print stock was finally confirmed, and the project was printed on the Indigo Printer, folded and finished.
The finished job was held in house for distribution to holiday home owners.
