Design
Once the project was confirmed and brought on board,
there was initially a brainstorming session – gaining
ideas. |
From these ideas initial pre-mac scamps thought about
and produced on paper. |
The more feasible ideas were then designed into formal
concepts using an Apple Mac computer and presented to
the customer on presentation board. |
There were then concept changes requested by the customer
and then after various changes a written or signed final
approval from them. |
The timescale of the total project was reviewed and
various parts of the project were planned to meet critical
path timescales. |
Artwork
Commissioned photography was undertaken and the gaining
of imagery from the customer. |
High resolution image scanning took place with some
image manipulation in Photoshop with and without filtering
for different styling ideas. |
Production and tracing of the titling using Freehand
and further stylising in Photoshop. |
The elements were then laid out in Quarkxpress on the
Mac and prepared in CMYK ready for print as artwork. |
A ‘flat net’ was produced using Quark and
fold allowances specified for the printer as a guide. |
Print and Finishing
The artwork was sent to the printer. A cromalin colour
proof, taken from the printers films, was sent back for
final checking. |
The print stock was finally confirmed, and the project
was printed, folded and finished. |
The finished job was sent out direct for distribution. |
